Smithville Lake is a beautiful 7,190-acre lake nestled in the rolling hills of northwest Missouri. The lake was constructed in 1977 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control, water supply, and recreational purposes.
There are plenty of recreational activities available at Smithville Lake, including boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, and camping. With 752 campsites, 2 beaches, and 2 marinas, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The lake is home to a variety of fish species, including catfish, crappie, bass, and walleye, making it a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts. The lake also hosts several fishing tournaments throughout the year.
For those who enjoy hiking and biking, the lake offers over 37 miles of trails that wind through the woods and around the lake, providing beautiful views and plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife.
